Guide Procurement staff, bringing strategic focus to day to day
activities, assuming compliance with site as well as corporate
policies and acceptable business practices in all areas of
Procurement.
Ensure that the goals, objective and major organizational tasks are
achieved by ensuring Materials, Equipment and Services are delivered
to the Plants and Project Units in a cost effective and timely manner.
Hire and train new and existing staff in order to enhance the
portfolio of professional skills within the group, maintaining,
broadening and deepening capabilities. Coaching and leading of all
staff.
Continuously develop Contractor and Supplier relationships through
direct contact and continuous communication.
Develop, maintain and improve appropriate Policies and Procedures
for all aspects of Procurement activities.
Develop, maintain and improve management systems necessary to
support and improve efficient and effective operations.
Conduct or supervise major negotiations with external business
entities per Corporate Policy to be principle negotiator.
Manage and lead all Supply Chain management Functions comply with
all legal, ethical principles/policies: Purchasing, Contracts,
Warehousing, Supplier Management, Inventory Control, Logistics,
Customs Regulations and Investment Recovery.
Innovate and improve all aspects of the Supply Chain Management
Functions to ‘best of class’ where possible. Seek improvements via new
emerging techniques and technology. Seek to implement a Quality
Management Process. Identify Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and
Threats and act accordingly. Identify and plan for trends in the
Supply Chain.
Provide Leadership and Management in general and specifically to
the Supply Chain Management Functions and Commercial issues, to the
long term benefit of the organization.
Manage the current and future Supply Value Chain.
Lead Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Inventory Control and
Project Management activity in the department. Implement systems and
controls.
Develop, Implement and Maintain necessary programs, practices etc.
within the Procurement group to comply with all : Safety, Health an
Environment laws and policies and Laws and Regulations of Trinidad and
Tobago and other Countries/States as applicable by e.g. SOX
Requirements.
Provide advice, guidance and direction on all commercial and
negotiation issues (such as Terms and Conditions, negotiation
strategy, General Supply Chain issues etc.) to Buyers, Supply Chain
Analysts etc. within the Procurement Department as well as Company
officers, Manager and Professionals in the wider organization.
Perform a mentorship role to newly recruited Procurement professionals
as well as new professionals in other departments.
Identify and pursue improvement work in procurement in general,
synergies with peers and other organmization locations and Corporate
Procurement Leadership.
